What this place is about

Cinderveil runs on a version of Punto Banco Baccarat — the most common form played worldwide. Two hands are dealt each round: one for the Player side and one for the Banker side. You pick which side you think will end up closer to a total of 9. Or you wager on a tie.

There is no real currency anywhere in this system. You start with 1,000 points, and those points exist purely for tracking your progress through the ranks. They cannot be cashed out, exchanged, or transferred. The whole thing is built for the experience of playing, not for any kind of material outcome.

Card values

How each card counts

A
Ace Worth 1 point
2-9
Number Cards Face value (a 5 counts as 5)
10
Ten Worth 0 points
J Q K
Face Cards Worth 0 points each

Totals above 9 drop the tens digit. So if a hand holds a 7 and an 8 (fifteen), the actual score is 5. A hand with a 4 and a 6 (ten) scores 0. This single rule is basically the entire mathematical engine behind the round.

Round flow

How a hand plays out

1

Place your wager

Pick one of three options: Player, Banker, or Tie. Set your point amount between 10 and 500. You can only choose one side per round.

2

Initial deal

Four cards come out, alternating: Player gets one, Banker gets one, Player gets another, Banker gets another. Both hands now have two cards each, and their totals are calculated.

3

Natural check

If either hand totals 8 or 9 from those first two cards, that is called a natural. The round ends right there and the higher score takes it. If both naturals match, it is a tie.

4

Third card rules

When neither hand has a natural, drawing rules kick in. The Player side draws a third card if their total is 0 through 5. The Banker side follows a more complex tableau that depends on their own total and what the Player drew. These rules are automatic — you do not choose whether to draw.

5

Result

Whichever side is closer to 9 after all cards are dealt wins. If they match, it is a tie. Points are awarded or deducted based on your wager.

The tableau

Third card drawing rules

Player side

Straightforward. If the Player total after two cards is 0 through 5, a third card is drawn. If it is 6 or 7, the Player stands. Naturals (8 or 9) end the round immediately.

Banker side

The Banker drawing rules depend on whether the Player drew a third card and, if so, what that card was. Here is the full breakdown:

Banker total Draws when Player's third card is Stands when
0, 1, 2 Always draws
3 0-7, 9 (anything except 8) Player drew 8
4 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 0, 1, 8, 9
5 4, 5, 6, 7 0, 1, 2, 3, 8, 9
6 6, 7 Everything else
7 Always stands

When the Player did not draw a third card (stood on 6 or 7), the Banker follows the same simple rule: draw on 0-5, stand on 6-7.

Payouts

What each wager returns

Player
1 : 1

Wager 50 points on Player, Player wins — you receive 50 points back on top of your original wager.

Banker
1 : 1

Same as Player. Wager returns at even rate. In traditional Baccarat there is a commission on Banker wins, but Cinderveil keeps it simple — no commission on anything.

Tie
8 : 1

Higher payout, lower odds. A tie is rare. Wager 50 on Tie and it hits — you get 400 points back plus your original stake.

Losing a wager deducts your bet amount from your balance. If you run out of points entirely, your balance resets to 1,000 automatically at the start of the next round. There is no penalty for resetting — this is an entertainment platform, not a ledger.

Coven ranks

Climbing the circle

Your rank shifts based on your accumulated lifetime points. Reaching a new tier unlocks cosmetic perks — table skins, card back designs, and profile badges. Ranks do not decay. Once earned, they stay.

A few things worth remembering

Cinderveil is entertainment. The points you collect here have zero monetary value. They cannot be exchanged, sold, traded, or converted into anything outside this platform. We designed it that way on purpose.

Set your own limits for how long you play in a session. If you find yourself playing longer than you intended, take a break. Close the tab. Come back later. The table will still be here.

If you ever feel that your relationship with any form of play — points-based or otherwise — is becoming unhealthy, please reach out to the organizations listed in our footer. They offer confidential support and guidance.
