Every piece of data we collect has a defined purpose. We use account and gameplay data to operate the platform, calculate rankings, manage coven structures, and deliver the nightly ritual events that keep sessions fresh. Technical data is used to detect abuse, investigate security incidents, and optimise page performance. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not share your information with advertisers. Cinderveil carries no advertising and earns no revenue from data brokerage.
We may use anonymised, aggregated gameplay statistics — total hands dealt across the platform, peak session hours, most-used table themes — to understand how the community uses Cinderveil and to guide product decisions. These statistics cannot be traced back to any individual player.
We retain active account data for as long as your profile exists on the platform. If your account is deleted, your profile data, points history, and coven associations are permanently removed within thirty days. Technical server logs are held for a maximum of ninety days before automatic deletion. Anonymised aggregate statistics carry no expiry because they contain no personal information.
Depending on your country of residence, you may hold rights to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate records, ask for deletion of your account and associated data, or object to certain processing activities. You can exercise any of these rights through the account management section of the platform. We respond to all valid requests within thirty days.
We apply encryption in transit across all platform connections, restrict internal data access to the engineering and trust-and-safety teams on a need-to-know basis, and conduct regular reviews of our security posture. No system is perfectly invulnerable, but we treat the protection of player data as a standing obligation, not a one-time project. Any breach that poses risk to players will be disclosed in accordance with applicable law.
